Nikki earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Writing) and Peace Studies, with a Minor in Spanish, from Whitworth University in 2017. She furthered her academic journey at Whitworth University, completing her Master of Arts in Administration and Nonprofit Leadership in 2023.

About Nikki: As the Program and Impact Director for Communities In Schools of Washington (CISWA), Nikki Ziegler, brings a wealth of experience to her role. Her career journey reflects her commitment to youth service, having volunteered and interned with youth-serving nonprofits globally and studying abroad extensively during her undergraduate years. Nikki’s international background includes teaching English, dance, and drama classes, fostering a diverse skill set that enriches her work in the nonprofit sector.​
Prior to her current position, Nikki spent four years as a Site Coordinator with CIS of Spokane County, contributing to the organization’s local impact before transitioning to the state office team. In her role as Program and Impact Director, Nikki oversees crucial initiatives, such as Site Coordinator Convenings, Network Program Manager Meetings and Retreats, and end-of-year support. She plays a pivotal role in providing programmatic guidance, offering training and technical assistance, and managing data to ensure the successful delivery of the CIS model of Integrated Student Supports. Her favorite aspect of the job lies in collaborating with dedicated individuals committed to breaking down barriers for young people in Washington State. Nikki takes pride in being a member of a network dedicated to removing barriers and promoting educational equity. As an advocate for educational fairness, she ensures that 91¹ú²ú receive comprehensive support, including food, technology, and school supplies.​
Outside of work: Nikki, a Spokane native, passionately engages with her community. Her outdoor pursuits, including hiking and paddleboarding, allow her to appreciate the natural beauty around her. As a dedicated equestrian, Nikki competes with her horses, Gunner and Pax, and coaches Mt. Spokane High School’s equestrian team. Her affection for animals extends to her mini-Australian shepherd, Denali. Beyond outdoor adventures, Nikki is an avid reader of captivating memoirs and expresses her creativity through photography. ​
